SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — ExperienceFlow today introduced the first decentralized and adaptive Super Intelligence: a network of reinforcement learning agents that enterprises own and continually improve. The company also launched superintelligence.experienceflow.ai, that includes the public home of its Super Intelligence Research Lab, and welcomed Dr. Mark Ring as Chief of Innovations.
Super Intelligence that develops through experience
“We founded ExperienceFlow to help solve real-world challenges, the kind no dataset can fully capture,” said Giri Athuluru, co-founder and CEO of ExperienceFlow. “Language models learn from what people wrote, world models from what they observe, and decision models from past judgments. But the world keeps moving, and the record of the past cannot contain every future. ExperienceFlow’s Real Super Intelligence learns from experience, so it keeps adapting to what comes next.”
Instead of routing every decision through one centralized model, ExperienceFlow distributes intelligence across networks of reinforcement learning agents deployed where decisions are made: the enterprise’s own cloud, data centers, and edge environments. Each agent learns from the consequences of its own actions, and ExperienceFlow’s Enterprise Digital Nervous System (EDNS) coordinates them toward shared goals. Models, data, and accumulated experience remain enterprise assets.
“Enterprises are being asked to rent their intelligence by the token and pay for it with their IP,” said Giri Athuluru. “Every prompt sent to a centralized model is a meter running and a piece of hard-won know-how leaving the building. We are the first to build decentralized and adaptive Super Intelligence that an enterprise truly owns. It runs inside the walls of the enterprise, learns from the decisions made there, and gets better every day. The more an enterprise uses it, the more valuable it becomes, to that enterprise, not to someone else’s model. In an economy increasingly run by AI agents, that ownership is how enterprises will keep their edge.”
ExperienceFlow’s systems are built on reinforcement learning and continual learning: they act, observe the results, and use that experience to learn which actions move measurable outcomes. Deployment is not a fixed inference phase after training; learning and inference continue together indefinitely.
ExperienceFlow’s five hallmarks of Super Intelligence – goal-seeking behavior, experiential learning, continual learning, decentralized operation, and security by design – are built into this architecture, allowing institutional knowledge to accumulate within the enterprise as demand, equipment, markets, and operating conditions change.
About Mark Ring
Dr. Mark Ring introduced the term “continual learning” in 1991. His 1994 doctoral dissertation at the University of Texas at Austin, Continual Learning in Reinforcement Environments, set out a definition and research program for agents that develop incrementally through their own experience. In 2015, he co-founded Cogitai, serving as CEO, to bring reinforcement learning and continual learning to industrial applications. Cogitai built Continua, an early self-learning enterprise AI platform; Sony later acquired the company, and its team and technology became the foundation for Sony AI.
“What excites me about ExperienceFlow is its clear commercial pathway for continual learning. Enterprises are constantly changing: their processes, data, users, constraints, customers, and goals,” said Dr. Ring. “ExperienceFlow can build continual learning into that change, gradually, naturally, and at scale. That matters because continual learning is essential to intelligence: a system that cannot recognize when its assumptions fail, learn from experience, and build on what it already knows remains fundamentally limited.”
“Mark saw very early that continual learning is not an optional feature of intelligence; it is central to intelligence,” said Prof. Richard Sutton, Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of ExperienceFlow’s Super Intelligence Research Lab. “His joining strengthens our effort to build agents for a complex real world that never stops changing.”
Super Intelligence Research Lab
Led by Prof. Richard Sutton, 2024 ACM Turing Award laureate and a founding architect of reinforcement learning, the Super Intelligence Research Lab brings together researchers with backgrounds at DeepMind, and Sony AI. As Chief of Innovations, Dr. Ring will work with Prof. Sutton and ExperienceFlow’s research and engineering teams across continual learning, reinforcement learning, memory, world models, long-horizon planning, and reliable online adaptation.
“The future will be shaped by whether intelligence can keep learning while helping people solve the problems that matter,” said Giri Athuluru. “That is what we are building: Real Super Intelligence, grounded in experience, owned by the enterprises that rely on it, and accountable to the goals people set.”
