Commercial frying technology recognized for its approach to extending cooking-oil life, improving kitchen efficiency and supporting more sustainable foodservice operations
MONTRÉAL, QC / ACCESS Newswire / October 13, 2026 / OiLChef, a commercial frying technology developed by Eco Friendly Chef Corp., has been named the Restaurant Solution of the Year at the 2026 Restaurant & Takeaway Innovation Expo held at ExCeL London.

The award recognizes solutions demonstrating innovation, functionality and meaningful impact within the restaurant and foodservice industry. The recognition highlights OiLChef’s approach to helping professional kitchens address the cost, efficiency and sustainability challenges associated with commercial deep frying.
Designed for restaurants, quick-service restaurants and other foodservice operations, OiLChef is placed inside commercial deep fryers and is intended to help slow oil oxidation and reduce the rate at which cooking oil deteriorates during regular use.
According to the company, this process can help operators extend the useful life of frying oil while maintaining more consistent frying performance. OiLChef says participating foodservice operators have reported being able to prepare more food during a regular oil cycle, potentially reducing the frequency of oil replacement and associated operating costs.
Addressing a Major Commercial Kitchen Expense
Cooking oil represents a recurring operational expense for restaurants that rely heavily on deep frying. At the same time, operators are increasingly focused on reducing waste, improving energy efficiency and maintaining consistent food quality during high-volume service periods.
OiLChef was developed to address these challenges without requiring restaurants to replace their existing commercial fryers.
The company says the technology works within the frying environment to help slow oxidation and limit increases in oil viscosity over time. By extending the effective cooking cycle of the oil, OiLChef aims to help restaurant operators reduce oil consumption while maintaining consistency across repeated frying cycles.
OiLChef has also received feedback from operators regarding cooking efficiency. According to the company, one chicken-wing restaurant operation reported reducing its cooking time from approximately 13 minutes to nine minutes after introducing the technology into its frying process.
Individual results may vary depending on fryer type, cooking conditions, food volume and operating procedures.
The company believes improvements in oil utilization and frying efficiency can be particularly relevant as restaurants continue to manage rising costs associated with food, labor, energy and kitchen operations.
“Winning the Restaurant Solution of the Year Award is an extraordinary milestone for OiLChef,” said Sean Farry, CEO of OiLChef. “We developed OiLChef because we saw an opportunity to improve one of the most important and costly processes in a commercial kitchen. To have the restaurant industry recognize our technology at an international event such as the Restaurant & Takeaway Innovation Expo is a tremendous validation of what we have been working to achieve.”
Farry added that the company’s longer-term objective is to expand the role of OiLChef within professional foodservice operations.
“Our objective is much bigger than creating another piece of restaurant equipment,” Farry said. “We want OiLChef to become an important technology platform for restaurants around the world, helping operators improve frying operations while supporting greater efficiency, consistency and value.”
The Restaurant & Takeaway Innovation Expo brings together restaurant operators, quick-service restaurant brands, suppliers, technology companies and other foodservice industry professionals to showcase technologies and operational solutions for the restaurant sector.
Following the 2026 recognition, OiLChef plans to continue expanding awareness of its technology among independent restaurants, foodservice operators and multi-location restaurant groups.
